Barcelona are about to make a shocking move which involves signing two Premier League stars this summer.

The Premier League could make its official return from hiatus on June 1. But despite some controversies the English league is bound to face, several transfer rumors are still swirling around. According to Mundo Deportivo (via Whoscored.com), La Liga giants Barcelona are planning a “shock move” to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth.

Just like Lionel Messi, Foyth was one of the most promising stars from Argentina. The 22-year-old defender burst onto the Premier League scene after joining Tottenham in 2017 under Mauricio Pochettino's request.

However, Foyth has had his troubles living up the hype and struggled to get going with the Spurs. He is now reportedly has no future under Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho, who is said to be after a different type of central defender this summer. Mourinho has also made it clear that Foyth is one of the players who could possibly leave the club as part of their rebuilding process.

Aside from Foyth, Barca have also been heavily linked with a summer move for Tottenham club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele. But despite the interest, The Press Association via Team talk reported that Tottenham have no intention of parting ways with the club-record signing Ndombele this summer. In the Premier League, the Frenchman has also captured the attention of Liverpool but the Spurs are keen on keeping their midfield star.

Ndombele joined the Spurs as a hot rising star last summer and has managed to become one of the most talented midfield prospects in Europe, given a rocky start in north London.

The 23-year-old has had his fair share of injuries and concerns about his game. In fact, Ndombele was publicly criticized by his head coach Mourinho in the wake of Spurs' 1-1 draw with Burnley this year over poor performance in the midfield.

Regardless of the ongoing issues, Barcelona are still reportedly pursuing Ndombele. The Catalan club was even rumored to be willing to throw together a tempting package to convince Spurs to sell the French International. Barca’s deal is said to be a package which would involve Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo as part-exchange.

Recent reports claimed that Barca are already close to reaching a deal for Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez. And with nearly half of the Barcelona squad reportedly up for sale this summer, a series of transfer moves is expected to happen in the following days.
