INmune Bio Teams with Quantum Computing Inc. to Target New Indications for XPro
INmune Bio

In an industry-first convergence of quantum photonics and precision medicine, INmune Bio Inc. (NASDAQ: INMB) and Quantum Computing Inc. (NASDAQ: QUBT) have entered into a commercial collaboration to apply quantum optimization, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics to drug discovery.

The joint effort aims to analyze vast biological datasets to identify new therapeutic targets and predictive response biomarkers for XPro (XPro1595), INmune Bio's targeted biologic currently being evaluated for Alzheimer's disease and other neuroinflammatory disorders.

The agreement marks QCi's official entry into the pharmaceutical and biotechnology market, opening a commercial revenue line for room-temperature quantum hardware while giving INmune Bio a specialized computational tool to map the broader utility of its lead compound.

Mapping Inflammation Biology with Photonic Quantum Computing

At the core of the collaboration is QCi's Dirac-3S entropy quantum optimization machine. Unlike superconducting quantum systems that require near-absolute-zero liquid helium cooling, the Dirac-3S utilizes integrated quantum photonics to process complex data at room temperature using low power.

The system will ingest data from four completed INmune Bio clinical trials, extensive preclinical research, and public biomedical databases. By evaluating complex combinations across these datasets, the machine will search for hidden biological patterns that link specific disease profiles to XPro's mechanism of action.

XPro operates as a Dominant-Negative Tumor Necrosis Factor (DN-TNF) biologic. It is designed to selectively neutralize soluble TNF (sTNF)—a key driver of systemic inflammation and neurodegeneration—without disrupting trans-membrane TNF (tmTNF), which is critical for maintaining healthy immune defenses.

Targeting Rare Diseases and Accelerated Development Pathways

By combining quantum optimization with conventional data analytics and machine learning, the research team plans to isolate patient populations with the highest probability of clinical response, helping INmune Bio prioritize future trial designs.

"This collaboration allows us to examine patient populations and biomarkers most likely to predict responses by analyzing large data sets," said David Moss, Chief Executive Officer of INmune Bio. "We'll look for the diseases with the greatest potential for success, those whose human biology matches what we've already seen XPro do, starting with rare diseases where trials can be smaller, faster and more capital-efficient, and where qualifying pediatric approvals may earn a Priority Review Voucher."

To benchmark performance, the collaboration will systematically evaluate where quantum processing yields an advantage over standard statistical tools, establishing an empirical baseline for quantum applications in biotech R&D.

Expanding Quantum Computing Into Life Sciences

For Quantum Computing Inc., applying its optical processing hardware to INmune Bio's clinical data demonstrates how photonic quantum systems can handle high-dimensional biological calculations today.

"This is a great example of what practical quantum computing can look like today," said Yuping Huang, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of QCi. "INmune Bio has a complex scientific problem and a substantial body of clinical and biological data. Our job is to bring new computing capabilities to that problem and see what we can learn. The potential to help researchers make better decisions about future treatments is exciting, and it opens an important new market for QCi."

The initial Stage 1 program includes options to scale analysis across additional datasets as INmune Bio's clinical pipeline advances, establishing a repeatable, quantum-driven discovery framework for pipeline expansion.
