Prince Charles has been married to Camilla Parker Bowles for years. But during the years of their relationship, the heir to the throne was also smitten with another woman.

In the Channel 4 documentary “Prince Charles’ Other Mistress,” Daily Mail journalist Christopher Wilson claimed that Camilla is just as important as Lady Tryon to Prince Charles.

“High Society reveals how, for a period during the 1970s, when both women were married to friends of his, HRH bounced from the bed of Camilla to that of Lady Tryon, then back again. While dithering over the very necessary duty of finding a suitable wife, Charles was happily having his cake and eating it,” he said.

Wilson went on to describe Camilla and Lady Tryon as Prince Charles’ mistresses. After all, the future king was first married to Princess Diana.

“For both women were his mistress. Both bore sons whose godfather he became. Both named them Charles [in Camilla's case, it was a second name]. And, in the end, both hated the other with a loathing that bordered on the pathological,” he said.

On the “Royals” podcast, royal commentator Angela Mollard described Lady Tryon as one of Camilla’s biggest rivals. In fact, the late mistress was more of a rival to Camilla than Princess Diana.

According to Mollard, Prince Charles and Lady Tryon adored each other, and they also saw each other all the time. In fact, a lot of people dubbed Lady Tryon as the first Camilla since she was the Duchess of Cornwall’s real rival.

In the past, Prince William and Prince Harry’s dad also described Lady Tryon as one of the few people who properly understood him. Mollard said that it’s possible that the two were just friends but no one could really say for sure.

Following her death, Prince Charles said that he and Lady Tryon were good friends. But he denied that they have stayed in touch throughout his marriage to Princess Diana and Camilla.
