Prince Harry introduced his girlfriend Meghan Markle to Kate Middleton last week as engagement rumors continue to swirl. According to the Sun, the "Suits" actress met the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte in London last Tuesday.

The meeting reportedly took place at the Kensington Palace apartment that Middleton shares with Prince William and the family. Middleton traveled from her Norfolk home Anmer Hall down to London with her 20-month-old daughter, but Prince George had to stay back for school.

Markle had already met Prince William in November 2016, when the Duke of Cambridge sent a message of support about his brother’s relationship with the American actress.

According to the Sun, the meeting between Middleton and Markle went “really well” with the actress gifting the mother of two a leather-bound “dream diary” as a birthday present. Middleton celebrated her 35th birthday in a low-key event with close friends and family on Jan. 9.

“Kate was really looking forward to meeting Meghan and she knew how important it was to Harry,” a source told the Sun. “Obviously Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died when he was very young so Kate really fulfills that older sister/maternal role. They are very close and he really values her opinion on girlfriends.”

Prince Harry and Markle were first rumored to be dating in October, and the romance was confirmed in November when Kensington Palace released a statement asking the public to stop harassing the Hollywood star.

Late last week, a royal source told E! Online that Prince Harry is “truly in love” with Markle and things are “very serious” between them, adding that an “engagement announcement sometime this year” will not be a surprise for anyone.

So far, Markle hasn’t been introduced to Queen Elizabeth II but the queen is reportedly “fully supportive” of the relationship. A source told Us Weekly in December that Prince Harry’s grandmother is “delighted to see [him] in a loving relationship.”
