Prince William will attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, but he won't be missing the FA Cup finals as well.

Last week, Kensington Palace announced that the next royal wedding will be on May 19 next year. The date falls on a Saturday and the same day as the finals of the FA Cup of which the Duke of Cambridge is a patron. Kate Middleton's husband is expected to attend both.

Initially, there was a dilemma over which event Prince William will be attending. According to The Telegraph, however, FA officials are consulting palace aides to ensure that there will be enough time for the dad-of-two to get to the match after his brother's wedding.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman was asked about Prince William's attendance at the FA Cup finals because he is usually present at the event and gives out the trophy. The speaker just stressed that the two events don't take place at the same time. "We have not gone into the timing of the wedding but made it clear that the wedding and the FA cup final will not clash," the rep said.

Despite the two events being scheduled on the same day, the FA president released a statement saying that the organization is "delighted" for Prince Harry and Markle. "Saturday 19 May promises to be a wonderful day with such a special royal occasion being followed by English football's showpiece event, the Emirates FA Cup Final," the spokesperson said. "With millions coming together to watch both events at home and around the world, it will be a day to celebrate."

Kensington Palace also confirmed the apparent clash of the events and stressed that they will consider it in their planning. "We are aware of it and we haven't announced times yet. It will be considered as part of the further planning," a Kensington Palace spokesman said.

In related news, there are rumors that the "Suits" star's friend, Priyanka Chopra, may be one of Markle's bridesmaids. Markle and the "Quantico" actress are close friends and even called each other "my girl" or "my babe" in their posts on social media.

Following the reveal of Markle and Prince Harry's engagement, Chopra posted a sweet message for the bride-to-be. "Congratulations to my girl @meghanmarkle and Prince Harry!! I’m so happy for you Meg! You deserve the best always..keep smiling that infectious smile," Chopra wrote.
