Prince William and Prince Harry used to share a close bond, but ever since the Duke of Sussex married Meghan Markle, there has reportedly been a rift in the brothers’ relationship.

Now that Harry and Meghan are parents to baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, some may expect him to imitate Wiliam and Kate Middleton’s parenting style. However, a royal commentator revealed the 34-year-old refused to follow in his brother’s footsteps.

During a chat on Yahoo’s Royal Box, royal commentator, Omid Scobie claimed Prince Harry slammed the idea of hiring a nanny similar to Prince William and Kate’s current child caretaker.

Maria Teresa Borrallo, who graduated from Norland and wears a uniform when on duty, helps the Duke and Duke of Cambridge tend to their three children.

“One of the things that Harry said was, ‘I don’t want a woman in a uniform around my child. This isn’t Mary Poppins, we’re going to have a normal household,’” Scobie said.

Royal commentator, Dick Arbiter previously revealed that nannies employed by the palace are expected to dedicate themselves to royal children. “When you become a royal nanny, you are for all intents and purposes giving up your own existence, he explained.

“The nannies that looked after William and Harry were either widows or never married, the same with the Queen’s nannies. So there is as well trying to find the right person who is going to fit the mold, be discreet, who will put your child’s wellbeing at the center of their existence, but be happy to give up a huge part of their own life.”

Since Meghan gave birth to Archie in May, she has reportedly been through three nannies but is said to be happy with her latest hire. “Meghan is a very hands-on mum, but the new nanny is a godsend,” the source told The Sun.

“She is extremely professional, with a number of nannying years under her belt, and has fitted into the family really well. She’s great with little Archie and just adores him. Harry and Meghan are very happy with her.”

The new nanny has already been spotted on vacation with Prince Harry and Meghan, and will most likely join the couple when they take baby Archie on his first royal tour in the fall.
