Prince Harry “needs to be happy”, his close pal David Beckham said.

Beckham and Prince Harry have been friends. In fact, Beckham and his wife Victoria were among the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s guests at their royal wedding. The former professional footballer praised the duke as a dad and encouraged him to “be happy.”

“I haven't spoken to Harry about him moving. We speak as friends and that's the most important thing for me,” Beckham told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday.

“I think he's enjoying being a young father for the first time and that's what we always spoke about. When you are a parent, it changes everything for you. He always needs to be happy.”

Beckham added that he and his wife were very proud of how Prince Harry has become after welcoming Archie. He also said that he sees Prince Harry as a loving father.

“We love him and he's an amazing person -- and that's the most important thing -- but I'm proud to see him growing up as an individual and being that person that every father wants to be. Every father wants to be loving to their children and that's what I see with him,” Beckham added.

Beckham’s latest venture is being the co-owner of new Major League Soccer team Inter Miami. He invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their son Archie to attend a game at the Fort Lauderdale stadium. The father of four said that the team was not a vanity project but a family affair.

Those behind the team wanted to leave a legacy to their children. They wanted to hear their kids say, “Our dads built this.” In addition, Beckham and the rest of his co-owners want to make their families and the people of Miami and South Florida proud.

Beckham’s statement encouraging Prince Harry to be happy came after the duke’s sighting at the Edinburgh station. He was spotted alone and according to the online users, he didn’t look so well.

“2016 to 2020. This is what marrying a toxic narcisstic [sic], greedy blood sucker who cares only for your title of Prince does to a man in his prime, who was once carefree and enjoying life. Its [sic] a slow death for Harry if he doesn't wise up and break free very soon,” a netizen wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, according to a royal expert, Prince Harry and Markle are reluctant to not use “Sussex Royal” as their brand. Tom Bower said that the couple wanted to commercialize the royal family.
