Prince Harry would understand his bodyguards’ protocol due to his upbringing and military background, but not his wife Meghan Markle.

According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are currently in the U.S., have hired a personal security team. The team watching the royals in Los Angeles was reportedly handpicked by Gavin de Becker, the former security chief of ex-president Ronald Reagan.

Celebrity security expert Will Geddes foresees potential issues that de Becker’s officers will face with the royals. According to him, Prince Harry would understand their duties, but his wife should know the boundaries.

“I've never protected Harry, but I've bumped into him. He's very charming and nice, and as former military he would understand and accept certain protocols and there would be mutual respect,” he told The Times.

“What you don't want is Meghan — whom I've never met — asking her boys to pick up her rice milk from the Whole Foods down the road. So long as boundaries are stuck to, there should be no problems.”

An insider told the outlet that de Becker was the one who provided security teams for Prince Harry and Markle’s celebrity friends and they admired the quality of his service. However, the service he offers doesn’t come cheap. It is going to cost the royals $8,700 a day or about $3 million a year.

It is unclear who is footing the bill for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s security. However, their friends claimed that they would be paying for their protection.

In related news, the royal couple contacted the LAPD several times last month due to drone flybys at their home. The flybys happened on May 9, 19, 20, 21, and 25.

A spokesperson for the LAPD confirmed the incident on May 20. It was reported at 11: 12 a.m.

“Unknown suspects were flying a drone in the area and they were last seen on Coldwater Canyon,” the report read.

Meanwhile, “Ladies of London” alum Marissa Hermer said that the couple made the right choice when they moved to Los Angeles. According to her, the state is a better place for a growing family.

“Cars are bigger, streets are bigger, refrigerators are bigger, pantries are bigger, garages are bigger,” Hermer explained.

“I can probably feed my family … from the food in my house for weeks, whereas in London … refrigerators are smaller there.”
