Prince Harry’s ex, Cressida Bonas, shared how her fears held her back from many opportunities including a potential entry into the royal family.

Bonas was introduced to Prince Harry by his cousin, Princess Eugenie. They dated for two years and many thought they would end up together. Apparently, they didn’t.

Prince Harry met and married Meghan Markle. Meanwhile, Bonas is now engaged to another Harry. Her fiance, Harry Wentworth-Stanley, proposed to her last year.

In her recent interview, Bonas talked about her career and how she managed to pull off her unique role as a schizophrenic mom in “The White Farm House.” Her reason could be a hint why she split with Prince Harry and backed down from joining the royal family

“The fear of failing, the fear of rejection, the fear of not getting it right, the fear of not being perfect … I think that has limited me in certain situations in my life,” Bonas told the Daily Telegraph.

In March, Bonas released teaser of her podcast “Fear Itself” on Instagram. In the short clip, she admitted that throughout her life, she experienced a form of fear that “really motivated me, pushing me forward or limited me, holding me back.”

According to royal biographer Katie Nicholl, Bonas was “spooked” when she saw Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince George’s first international tour. The image of the royals with a huge crowd watching them was a “wake-up call” for her. She realized it wasn’t the life she wanted that was why she broke up with Prince Harry.

“Harry suffered a real blow when she said ‘I can’t do this.’ I think she really broke his heart,” a source told Nicholl.

The Duke of Sussex’s other ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy also broke up with him for the same reason. She didn’t like the extreme media attention.

Many believed that Markle was Prince Harry’s best match. She was a former actress and was used to the press and cameras. However, Nicholl said that the duchess’ was also struggling with her royal life. In fact, in January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping back from their royal duties.

“It became very apparent from that documentary in Africa, that perhaps while she made it look easy, it obviously wasn't easy,” Nicholl said about Markle.

Meanwhile, Bonas is set to marry Wentworth-Stanley. However, the couple has not set the date yet due to the pandemic.

“Unfortunately it has [been delayed]. We are not quite sure what our next move is, but we will have to be postponing the wedding,” she said.
