Prince Harry made a shocking outburst to his brother Prince William before he quit his royal role.

Last Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex rocked the palace and surprised the world by announcing that they are quitting their royal roles. However, it wasn’t actually the first time time Prince Harry erupted when it comes to his royal duties, New Idea reported.

When Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ sons were younger, Prince Harry made a declaration to his older brother saying that he “can do what he wants” because Prince William “would be king, and I won’t.” Princess Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe was with the royals during the conversation and he shared it during his interview on LBC radio.

“I had the privilege of working with his mother, William and Harry and many other members of the royal family. I remember a moment of Harry as a four-year-old, travelling down to Gloucester one weekend. He and his brother had an argument in the back seat of the car being refereed by the nanny,” Wharfe shared.

“And in the end, Harry said: ‘You’ll be king one day, I won't. Therefore I can do what I want!’ Diana said ‘Where the hell did he get that from?’”

Wharfe also shared the same incident in the “Robert Jobson’s Royal Podcast.” At the time, he revealed that the future king “gleefully liked” his younger brother’s acknowledgment that he would reign the monarchy when they grow up. Wharfe even said that he found their conversation funny.

However, when Prince Harry and Markle announced that they are stepping back from their royal duties, Prince William wasn’t pleased. The Queen, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge were furious and disappointed because they were not informed ahead of the couple’s plans.

The four senior royals had a crisis talk on Monday. Following their meeting, the Queen released a personal statement saying that they are supporting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision. However, the monarch’s announcement sparked rumors that the Sussexes will be stripped of their royal titles because the Queen mentioned Prince Harry and Markle’s name several times, but Her Majesty never used their titles.
