  • Prince Philip's health is deteriorating
  • Prince Philip won't live very long

Prince Philip was rushed to the hospital before Christmas to seek treatment for a pre-existing condition.

Even though he managed to return home just four days later, a source claimed that the Duke of Edinburgh is largely bed-ridden and in ill-health.

While speaking with The Sun, the source also said that Prince Charles’ father can only spend about 10 minutes at a time in someone else’s company before he feels exhausted.

However, all this has not stopped him from venting his feelings about what’s going on within the royal family.

“He’s fully aware of what’s happening and is truly mystified by this week’s events,” the source said.

Closer Weekly also claimed that Prince Philip’s health is worsening and that he has been sick for the past couple of weeks. And his wife, Queen Elizabeth, is the one who is most affected by his deteriorating health.

Paul Burrell, a former royal butler, said that nobody understands Her Majesty more than Prince Philip. This is why losing the Duke of Edinburgh is something that would be difficult for the monarch.

Meanwhile, some royal experts claimed that Prince Philip’s retirement was a key turning point in the palace, and it also triggered the ongoing turmoil within The Firm.

When Prince Philip was still considered as a working royal, he was known to have a fairly divisive character. Ever since his retirement, there had been a lack of discipline within the British clan.

Royal expert Russell Myers said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for instance, seem to have lost their way. The royal couple recently announced their decision to step back from their royal duties.

Following their exit, Express claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may pay tribute to the 98-year-old retired royal by using his surname. Now that they are no longer considered as working royals, Prince Harry may simply be known as Harry Mountbatten-Windsor.

However, Markle may opt to use her maiden surname because this is how she was known in Hollywood.
