Prince William reportedly confronted Princess Diana with this emotionally shocking and disturbing question.

Prince William and Princess Diana had an emotional confrontation regarding Prince Charles’ feelings for his first wife. The Prince and Princess of Wales had a fairytale wedding but an unhappy marriage.

In 1994, in the authorized biography of Prince Charles that came out as a filmed interview, he admitted his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles. However, he told renowned broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby that he tried to be faithful “until it became irretrievably.”

He added that the said interview somehow affected Prince William and Prince Harry.

“What concerned them most was the assertion that Prince Charles had been forced into marriage by their grandfather, Prince Philip, and that he had never loved their mother,” Morton said. “It was yet another emotionally disorientating and disturbing episode for the two boys to absorb.”

When the book was released, Prince Charles reportedly stayed with Queen Mother at her house in the Balmoral estate, Birkhall. Princess Diana was left to console her children.

On Oct. 17, 1994, the People’s Princess met her troubled sons in the headmaster’s study at Ludgrove, where Prince William confronted her with an emotionally shocking and disturbing question.

“Is it true, Mother? Is it true that Daddy never loved you?” Prince William asked Princess Diana.

Princess Diana explained to Prince William that when they first married, she and Prince Charles loved each other as much as they loved their children.

“It was an explanation of sorts,” Morton continued. “How far William, by then a bright twelve-year-old, accepted the explanation is another matter.”

Prince William and Prince Harry were very close to their mom. In fact, the Duke of Cambridge and Princess of Wales had a “reverse relationship” because it was Prince William who comforted his mom.

However, Prince William wasn’t happy when Princess Diana’s infamous Panorama interview aired. The Duke of Cambridge was so upset that he refused to talk with his mother for some time because he felt that she “had gone too far.” Prince William’s decision left Princess Diana absolutely devastating.
