Prince William could miss the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby next month.

Kensington Palace just announced that the Duke of Cambridge will visit New Zealand in late April at the request of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to honor the victims of the Christchurch shootings.

“The Duke will meet with those affected by the attack and will pay tribute to the extraordinary compassion and solidarity that the people of New Zealand have displayed in recent weeks,” the statement read.

The actual date of his trip to New Zealand, which he will do on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, has not yet been revealed.

Markle is expected to give birth sometime at the end of April or the beginning of May. While in Birkenhead, the former actress told royal fans that her due date is nearing.

If Prince William’s trip will take place at the end of next month then he won’t be in London to welcome his niece or nephew but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will most certainly not mind if he’s not around. This is because the royal couple also condemned this month’s attack and they also released a statement following the tragic incident.

“No person should ever have to fear to attend a sacred place of worship,” Prince Harry and Markle said.

In related news, Prince William’s upcoming visit to Christchurch won’t be his first. In 2011, he also visited the institution following a series of earthquakes. Three years later, he visited the church with Kate Middleton and Prince George. Their trip to New Zealand marked their eldest son’s first trip abroad.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry made headlines recently amid rumors that they are not in good terms. The royal siblings have also decided to split their household with Prince William and Middleton staying at Kensington Palace and Prince Harry and Markle moving to Buckingham Palace.
