The British royals gathered together for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's platinum wedding anniversary.

On Monday, the monarch, 91, and the Duke of Edinburg, 96, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. To share the queen's new milestone in her marriage, the royals including Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry reunited for a special dinner, Vogue reported.

The royal trio arrived at the Berkshire estate together in a black car. The Duchess of Cambridge wore matching pearl drop earrings and necklace. She complemented this with a black lace dress. Meanwhile, the two royal princes sported classic black tuxedos. It remains unknown if Prince Harry's girlfriend, Meghan Markle, was there.

Of course, the queen's four children were all present. Prince Charles, 69, returned from his Caribbean tour. Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward were in attendance too.

Aside from the royal family, some of the monarch's close friends were invited too. Her remaining bridesmaids, Lady Pamela Hicks and Princess Alexandra, and some members of the European royal families like ex-King Constantine of Greece graced the event, People reported.

The royals gathered together at the state apartments at Windsor Castle which is normally open to the public. It was closed all day for the royals' intimate and glamorous dinner.

As for the size, it is believed that it matched the Christmas lunch that the queen usually hosts at the Buckingham Palace. The party included dinner served at around 7:30 p.m. and a post-dinner entertainment. Also, for their platinum wedding anniversary, Queen Elizabeth honored Prince Philip with Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

Prior to the royals' private dinner, the occasion was marked with a spectacular peal of bells that rung out from the Abbey across central London. This happened Monday afternoon and it lasted for over three hours.

Over the weekend, the palace released two sets of portraits taken during the queen and Prince Philip's photo shoot for the event. Now that the monarch's platinum anniversary is done, Prince Harry and Markle are expected to announce their engagement soon.

"We are confidently expecting an engagement between Harry and Meghan," Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator said. "But it isn't likely to be announced before the Queen and the Duke's Platinum Wedding Anniversary in November."
