Prince William is already planning the changes he wants to bring into the monarchy when he takes over the throne, a report says.

The Duke of Cambridge will be the head of the monarchy after his father, Prince Charles. An insider claimed that Kate Middleton's husband is already planning the future of the monarchy under his reign.

"William is already thinking about the future of the Monarchy and the changes he’ll make," the insider told Us Weekly. "While he respects protocol, he plans to modernize some aspects and is making it his mission to be more relatable than previous generations."

Prince William is second in line to the throne next to the Prince of Wales, the Queen's eldest son. The Duchess of Cambridge will reign beside him when the time comes.

"He and Kate have successfully created a healthy balance of openness [in the public eye] while maintaining the sense of mystery that surrounds the royal family and keeps us engaged," the insider added.

In Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey for CBS that aired in March, Prince Harry alleged that his brother, Prince William, and father, Prince Charles, were trapped in the royal family.

"I am part of the system with them, I always have been, but I guess — and I’m very aware of this — my brother can’t leave that system, but I have. My father and my brother are trapped. They don’t get to leave, and I have huge compassion for that," he said.

However, a different source said that the Duke of Cambridge does not feel like that at all.

"William is bound by his duty, but doesn’t feel trapped," the source told Us Weekly after the Sussexes' tell-all interview. "That is a label that Harry has unfairly given him."

Another source also told the outlet that Prince William has already accepted the fact that he will be in the spotlight as part of his job. However, he is more dedicated to the monarchy and his family.

"He takes his future role as King seriously and sees it as a great honor and privilege to be in his position. The Monarchy and his family will always come first," the source added.
