Prince William did something that netizens took as a move against his father, Prince Charles.

The Duke of Cambridge is in Davos, Switzerland and just recently interviewed David Attenborough. The two discussed environmental issues including climate change. At one point, Prince William described the “Blue Planet and Dynasties” narrator as the “single most important impact in my conservation thinking,”

Prince William’s remark didn’t sit well with royal fans who knew that his dad, Prince Charles, is as keen about the same matter. The Prince of Wales has been campaigning about the environment for years. So, many netizens were surprised to learn that Attenborough was more influential to Prince William than his own father.

“So Prince William shades his father by saying some other guy is the best conservationist he's ever known or met or whatever and that's some straight up SHADE!” Alexander Scamilton wrote on Twitter.

“Major diss of his father. I too don't live in England and I know about Prince Charles passion and fight for the environment etc.” another user named Jennifer commented.

Scamilton also mentioned the rumors about Prince William and Kate Middleton not bringing their kids around Prince Charles that much. He pointed out that the heir spends more time with Camilla’s grandkids than his own that’s why the future king is excited about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby.

Aside from this issue, according to Katie Nicholl in her 2010 book "William and Harry," the Duke of Cambridge wanted to be like his uncle Prince Andrew instead of his dad. Prince William planned his future and decided to follow the Duke of York’s career as a pilot.

Prince Andrew served in the Falklands War. Prince William reportedly enjoyed the fortnight working with the RAF Valley Mountain Rescue Team in Anglesey. Later on, the Duke of Cambridge became a helicopter pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Several reports claimed that growing up, Prince William and Prince Harry had a tricky relationship with their father. But, the two princes share a very close bond. According to Angela Mollard in New Idea’s “Royals” podcast, if there’s a person who could approach the Duke of Sussex about Markle, it would be his brother.
