  • Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice should not take their father's royal duties
  • Prince Andrew wanted to make his daughters full-time working royals
  • Princess Eugenie has a full-time job

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie should not pick up their father Prince Andrew’s royal duties.

The royal family faces a number of blows in the recent months. Three members of the family, Prince Andrew, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step down from their royal obligations. Due to the vacant posts, there are rumors that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie would step up. However, the public do not agree with this.

Daily Express hosted a survey and 29 percent of the respondents revealed they do not think minor royals like Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughters should pick up duties following their dad’s resignation. Only 26 percent gave a positive response, 30 neither agreed nor disagreed, and 14 percent said they didn’t know.

Prior to the poll, royal expert Russell Myers already said that it is unlikely for the York princesses to take over the Duke of York’s obligations.

“It was put to me that Andrew was potentially putting out that he would be willing to step back from his patronages and charities if the girls were allowed them. But to be honest, they are non-working members of the royal family. It definitely doesn’t fit with how Charles and William see it,” Myers explained in “Pod Save the Queen.”

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are not working royals like Prince William and Middleton. According to Antonia Hoyle of Daily Mail, their father wanted them to undertake official royal duties, so they will be paid from the privy purse.

Prince Andrew reportedly asked Her Majesty to make his daughters full-time working royals, but his request was denied. To make the matter worse, the $638,447 million-a-year, taxpayer-funded, 24-hour police protection was withdrawn in 2011 to lower monarchy costs.

Prince Andrew was furious because he felt that his girls were being neglected as Prince Charles’ sons Prince William and Prince Harry took the center stage. However, a few weeks back, Prince and Markle also announced that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family.

Prince Andrew’s daughters are working for a living. Princess Eugenie has a full-time job, she is currently employed at Hauser & Wirth in Mayfair, London. She holds a director position in the contemporary art gallery.
