Princess Charlotte rules over her big brother Prince George.

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s two eldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined the royal family for the first time for their traditional Christmas walkabout. Based on their outing, Libby Purves noticed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s only daughter is “ruling the roost.”

“Charlotte may have an elder brother but I think we can be in no doubt that for now she rules the roost between gentle, quiet George and baby Louis, perhaps in the style of Great-Aunt Anne or her more sociable and rebellious late Great-Great-Aunt Margaret,” Purves wrote.

Purves added that this is evident in her snaps beating Prince George in a bouncy slide, giving photographers a flinty glare and telling them, “you’re not coming!” at her baby brother’s baptism.

“Right now, she rules: and if and when she does kick over the traces, she'll have worked out that a well-timed curtsey gets most things forgiven,” Purves added.

The Queen has confirmed Purves’ observation about Princess Charlotte ruling over her big brother. In 2018, the Queen made the surprising confession when she asked then 10-year-old schoolgirl Emily Clay, who won a Bible signed by the monarch for a school religious education project, if she looked after her younger sister.

Ellen’s mom told the monarch that “it’s the other way around.” Queen Elizabeth II said that it was the same as her grandchildren Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Months ago, Princess Charlotte showed everyone how she ruled over the future king during a family outing. Prince William and Middleton took their three children to the garden she co-designed for Chelsea Flower Show. The Cambridges were having a great time together. Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were caught on camera running and playing around the garden.

In one scene, Prince William asked his daughter if she could help her big brother. Princess Charlotte unapologetically said, “no.” In another scene, Princess Charlotte can be heard yelling, “George! Quicker, George.”

In related news, Prince William just revealed that Prince George and Princess Charlotte were interested in the homeless people they saw on the streets. The Duke of Cambridge shared how concerned his kids were that he had to explain it to them.
