A photographer once created a fake photo of the late Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed's mixed-race baby and unsurprisingly, she got into a lot of trouble over it.

Years after the photo was released, Alison Jackson revealed that she got into a lot of trouble for staging the photo of the late Princess of Wales and her boyfriend. While speaking with The Telegraph, Jackson explained why she decided to create a fake photo of the couple.

“I wanted to examine how Diana had been manufactured by the media and the racial prejudice surrounding their relationship. That picture got me into serious trouble,” she said.

Jackson revealed that the Royal College of Art didn’t allow her to show the photo until the day she left. Prince Philip was also supposed to open the graduates’ leaving exhibition, but he was ushered down to a side corridor. But despite the controversy surrounding the photo, Jackson said that the snap enhanced her career.

“Lots of people came to see the work and even laid flowers beneath it. Out of that came Doubletake,” she said.

Jackson’s interview came amid rumors that Princess Diana was pregnant at the time of her fatal car accident in Paris. At that time, she was also with Al Fayed, who passed away following the incident.

Angela Gallop, a forensic scientist, claimed to have taken a sample of the princess’ stomach contents to test for signs of the pregnancy hormone and contraceptive pill. The forensic investigation to determine if Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom was expecting a baby was led by Professor David Cowan, the former head of forensic science at King’s College in London.

While speaking with The Sunday Times, Gallop said all of the tests that they conducted came back negative. She added that it was highly likely that Prince Charles’ ex-wife was not pregnant at the time of the accident. She also said that the mom of two did not take contraceptive pills to prevent herself from getting pregnant.
