Princess Diana recalled an incident when she was shocked by Prince Charles’ move.

According to Sarah Bradford in her book “Diana,” the Princess of Wales was surprised by the Prince of Wales’ very straightforward approach during their courtship because it came just weeks after his proposal was rejected by Anna Wallace.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana met at a barbecue gathering where they sat on a bale. The People’s Princess expressed her regret over the death of Lord Mountbatten, Prince Charles’ mentor who was killed by the IRA the summer before.

Princess Diana told Prince Charles how gloomy he was during Lord Mountbatten’s funeral. She comforted the heir saying, “My heart bled for you when I watched.” She then advised Prince Charles to have somebody to look after him. As a reaction to her comforting words, Prince Charles “leapt on” her.

“The next minute he leapt on me practically and I thought this was very strange too, and I wasn’t quite sure how to come with all this.” Princess Diana recalled.

Princess Diana was both surprised and shocked by the future king’s reaction.

“I thought ‘Well, this isn’t very cool’,” Princess Diana confessed.

“I thought men were not supposed to be so obvious, I thought this was very odd,” she added.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom said that they talked about a lot of things and Prince Charles invited her to come with him to London because he needed to work at Buckingham Palace the following day. Princess Diana thought that the invitation was “too much.”

Prince Charles continued courting Princess Diana the following months. Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and Queen Mother approved of Princess Diana for the future king.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a fairytale wedding, but their marriage didn’t work. The princess blamed Camilla for it. In her infamous “Panorama” interview, Princess Diana said that “there were three of us in this marriage, so it’s a bit crowded.”

Princess Diana also claimed that Prince Charles was obsessed with Camilla and he slept with her the night before their wedding. However, royal biographer Penny Junor said that Princess Diana’s claims “were false.“

Royal biographer Robert Lacey blamed Prince Charles for his and Princess Diana’s divorce. According to the expert, the future king was emotionally committed to another woman [Camilla] when he married Princess Diana.
