Princess Diana once told Prince Harry to stop sucking his thumb while Prince William made a hilarious move during the British royal family’s meeting with former king of Spain, Juan Carlos.

In 1986, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Juan Carlos’ summer palace in Majorca with their two sons. During their visit, there were a number of adorable and hilarious moments involving Prince William and Prince Harry.

In this clip shared on Instagram, Prince Harry can be seen sucking his thumb. Princess Diana tried to stop him by holding his hand down, but the little princess was determined to continue doing it.

Inside the palace, Prince William sat with Juan Carlos, since the two get along well. Meanwhile, Prince Harry who was still 1 year old at the time didn’t settle with anyone but his mom, Princess Diana.

The royal families were later photographed at the steps of the palace. The clip shows Prince Charles carrying Prince Harry who is still sucking his thumb. The Prince of Wales is then seen ordering her son to stop for the picture. Princess Diana then smiled at her younger son and encouraged him to put his hand down, Prince Harry quickly complied.

In another scene, Prince William is seen stroking the former king’s German shepherd dog. The little prince visibly tells the dog to sit, but it didn’t, as shown in the video. When Juan Carlos instructed the dog to sit, it was Prince William who sat and this made the people laugh.

Just recently, Juan Carlos decided to retire from public life five years after abdicating the throne. According to a letter the former Spanish king sent to Felipe IV, he had been considering his retirement since his 80th birthday in January 2018, People reported.

In 2014, the former monarch spoke to Rafael Spottorno, chief of the royal household, and said, “I do not want my son to wither waiting like Prince Charles.”

In related news, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s Christmas card in 1988 was recently revisited. The card featured a family photo where Prince Charles is “awkwardly distant” from Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry.

In the snap, the two boys are standing in a fence with Princess Diana supporting them while Prince Charles is noticeably away from the three.

One netizen wrote, “Body language tells a story.” Meanwhile, another commented, “Her with the kids and Charles alone.”
