Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are affected by Prince Andrew’s scandal.

The Duke of York has finally addressed the controversy that had been plaguing him for months in an interview. However, it backfired and even caused him to resign from his royal duties and the whole ordeal upset his daughters.

“Eugenie and Beatrice are really upset. They believe their dad made a huge mistake in judgment ever being associated to Jeffrey Epstein,” an insider told Us Weekly.

“The girls are leaning on each other and are being really supportive of their dad and also understand that this is something that is going to change how he is able to perform his duties moving forward. They understand the forever consequences of it.”

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie might also be forced to move out of Kensington Palace. Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s youngest daughter is occupying the Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom house in the palace grounds.

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank rent their home at a commercial rate of around $235,500 per year. The cost has been assumed by her father. However, now that the Duke of York has stepped down, the amount of support he can give to his two daughters is also expected to reduce.

Some wonder if Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice could take over their father’s patronages. However, according to royal expert Russell Myers, that is unlikely to happen since the princesses are not working royals. Also, with Prince Charles planning to streamline the royal family, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are likely to be among those who will be removed.

“To be honest, they are non-working members of the Royal Family. It definitely doesn’t fit in with how Charles and William see it. Charles certainly wants a more streamlined Royal Family so I can’t see that they’ll sort of, sub him off and bring in these two,” Myers said.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly received a warning about Prince Andrew’s business ties with David Rowland four months ago. However, Her Majesty ignored it.
