  • PSG's sporting director says Neymar, Mbappe to remain at the club
  • Neymar has been linked with a return to Barcelona
  • Real Madrid have Mbappe as one of their top targets this summer

Neymar, who recently revealed to his close Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) teammates that he wants to return to FC Barcelona, will not be reuniting with his former colleagues such as Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Nou Camp this summer, according to the latest statement from the French side’s sporting director Leonardo de Araujo.

De Araujo, in a recent interview, spoke about PSG’s best players – Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – citing that the two have two more years left in their contract and “nothing tells us that they are not here next season”.

Neymar, who joined PSG from Barcelona in 2017 on a world-record fee, has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain, with Barca captain Messi having expressed his wish to have the Brazilian back to the squad. Neymar, during his stint with the Catalans between 2013 and 2017, had struck a great partnership with Messi and Suarez as Barca’s popular front three – "MSN".

On the other hand, Real Madrid have been scouting for Mbappe for a while now and the French man was on the top of Real’s target list ahead of the summer transfer market.

“They [Neymar and Mbappe] still have two years of contract and we are already looking to the future. We want to move forward, nothing tells us that they are not here next season,” De Araujo told Journal du Dimanche, as per Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo.

De Araujo, in the same interview, further insisted that PSG’s immediate aim is to fight for the Champions League with Neymar and Mbappe on their side.

“Neymar and Mbappé are 28 and 21 years old and they are here. There is not much to ponder. We are lucky to have them because it is something huge. Then we have to find the solution to continue the adventure together,” he added.

Speaking about Mbappe, PSG’s sporting director claimed the 21-year-old was the club’s future. “He is the future of PSG. He is wanted by everyone so the ideal thing would be to renew his contract,” De Araujo said of Mbappe, whose contract is due to expire in 2022.
