Queen Elizabeth II’s rare throwback photos from when she was still very young have just been released.

Cosmopolitan compiled the snaps of Her Majesty to give royal fans an insight into the monarch’s life before she became the Queen.

In the first black and white photo, 10-year-old Elizabeth is seen riding her pony. In the snap, she is wearing a complete equestrian gear. She is also smiling while looking away from the camera.

That same year, 1936, the Queen was photographed wearing a dress, which the publication claimed was forced into Her Majesty by her parents. In the picture, Elizabeth looked as though she was forcing herself to smile.

In 1939, the monarch was photographed wearing her swimwear just before taking her lessons. The Queen’s one-piece swimsuit featured medals all over it simply because she is a member of the royal family.

At the age of 14, the Queen was once again photographed riding a horse. She looks extremely happy in the picture. The Queen’s love for horses continues until today.

In the same year, a teenage Elizabeth sat on the sofa with a book on her lap and posed in front of the camera. The candid shot saw the Queen placing her right hand below her chin and looking glum.

One year later, the Queen was photographed outside Windsor Castle’s garden. A photo of her standing in between the beautiful flowers has also been shared online by the publication.

Another photo of the mom of four showed Her Majesty posing in front of a table with a pen and journal on hand. And at the age of 19, she was photographed wearing a headscarf while walking around with her younger sister, Princess Margaret.

At present, the Queen is already 92 years old. She has sat on the throne for decades, and it seems she won’t be retiring anytime soon. Her husband, Prince Philip, 97, already retired last year.
