Queen Elizabeth II has let her guard down a couple of times, especially when she’s around children.

Despite her serious demeanor as the head of the monarchy, the 92-year-old has quickly warmed up to youngsters during her public engagements. In one of her photos from many years ago, the Queen broke royal protocol when she signed the ball of a young athlete.

The Queen also met a boy who was too shy to give her bouquet flowers so he ended up covering his eyes. But the Queen was more than elated to accept the beautiful flowers during one of her previous tours.

Just recently, a young boy was so overwhelmed with the Queen’s presence that he ended up crawling away from her during her visit to Coran, the oldest children’s charity in the United Kingdom.

Nathan Grant, 9, surprised the Queen when he went down on his knees and crawled away from her. Her Majesty looked confused by the situation, but Grant’s adoptive mom joked, “That’s his version of a bow!” The Queen nodded and laughed upon hearing this.

After meeting Grant, the Queen was also photographed helping a young girl fix a Christmas tree.

And in previous years, other kids also felt shy to look the Queen straight into her eyes. When an adorable boy gave her a bouquet of yellow flowers, he looked down the entire time. Her Majesty didn’t seem to mind.

While out in the field, the Queen also met two young girls. One of them bowed to Her Majesty, but her entire upper body went a little bit too low. The Queen is seen staring at the young girl with a smile on her face.

The Queen could not also contain her happiness when she saw a young royal fan carrying a signage with the words “Hello Elizabeth” written on it. She was photographed smiling at the child and looking at the signage.

And when one boy showed the Queen his white boxing helmet, Her Majesty immediately engaged in a conversation with him. Luckily for the Queen, she has a lot of great-grandchildren she can talk to and bond with on a daily basis.
