Queen Elizabeth reportedly gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a secret nod weeks after the royal couple quit the royal family.

On Sunday, Her Majesty attended a church service in Sandringham. During her outing, the monarch was photographed in her baby blue ensemble, which she accentuated with the Canadian snowflake brooch.

The brooch features 48 rare Canadian sapphires surrounded by diamonds, which was given to the Queen to celebrate her 65th year on the throne. Canadian royal expert Patricia Treble revealed that the brooch celebrates Canada and one of its most famous symbols.

On the website Write Royalty, the meaning behind the brooch was explained further.

Queen Elizabeth II just received a royal brooch that is quintessentially Canadian. For there are two images that every Canadian instantly recognizes: the maple leaf and the snowflake. Now the Queen has diamond representations of both iconic shapes in her jewelry collection. In 2002, she inherited the Canadian maple leaf brooch from her mother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The diamond Cartier brooch was bought by her father King George VI for their famous royal visit to Canada in 1939,” they wrote.

According to Express, the Queen wearing the brooch may have been a nod to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because they are now residing in Canada. Following their exit, the couple announced that they will be splitting their time between London and North America.

However, it seems that the royal couple changed their minds. Instead of traveling back and forth from Canada to London, sources revealed that they could be relocating to the United States in the coming months.

A source told Grazia that Prince Harry and Markle relocating to America is not a matter of “if” but “when.”

“It’s an open secret. Meghan is homesick. Her mother, Doria, and most of her friends live in America and the couple both want Doria to have a close relationship with Archie. Interestingly, it seems to be Harry who is the driving force behind plans,” the source said.
