Khalil Mack might not be wearing an Oakland Raiders’ uniform anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be playing for another team at the start of the 2018 NFL season. Despite being at the center of trade rumors for the last few weeks, the organization doesn’t seem motivated to move their star defensive player.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Raiders have gotten numerous offers for Mack, who is still holding out of training camp as he looks for a new contract. Oakland has reportedly turned down packages that include a first-round pick and another high selection. The belief is that it would take at least two first-round picks in order for the Raiders to trade the 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

As good as Mack is—he might be the NFL’s best pass rusher—it’s hard to believe that any team would match such an asking price. The last star defender to be traded was Marcus Peters when the Kansas City Chiefs sent the cornerback to the Los Angeles Rams in February. L.A. only had to send Kansas City a 2018 fourth rounder and a 2019 second rounder for a sixth-round pick and a 25-year-old that was the 2015 Defensive Rookie of the Year and a First-team All-Pro selection in 2016.

Any team that might acquire Mack would have to sign him to a new deal, as well. The defensive end is likely looking for a contract that will pay him an average salary of around $20 million per season. The Rams are reportedly close to giving defensive tackle Aaron Donald $80 million in guaranteed money, and Mack is probably seeking a similar figure.

What teams have made Oakland legitimate trade offers? The New York Jets are a candidate, considering Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News has reported that the organization has serious interest in acquiring Mack. The Jets received a third-round pick in exchange for Teddy Bridgewater and a sixth-round pick Wednesday, though it seems a third rounder would only be a small part of a potential package for Mack.

The Green Bay Packers would make sense as a destination for Mack. They were named the betting favorites to acquire the defensive end when he first held out of training camp. Green Bay has two 2019 first-round picks that they could include in a potential trade.

Oakland doesn’t seem close to matching Mack’s contract demands. Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson has reported that Mack is likely to miss regular-season games and meaningful talks between the two sides haven’t happened in months.

The Raiders open the regular season with a “Monday Night Football” matchup against the Rams on Sept. 10.
