The Green Bay Packers have opened as the biggest underdogs in Aaron Rodgers' career when they face the Los Angeles Rams coming Sunday.

According to Ben Fawkes of ESPN, the SuperBook at the Westgate Las Vegas have the Packers (3-2-1) as 8.5-point underdogs against the Rams who are currently unbeaten with a 7-0 record and have been favored by at least 6.5 points in each game this season.

It is the largest total by which Rodgers is an underdog in his 13-year career with the previous total being when they were 8-point underdogs to the Seattle Seahawks four years ago.

The 2010 Super Bowl champions were also 7-point underdogs to the Arizona Cardinals in 2015, 6-point underdogs to the New York Jets in 2010 and 5.5-point underdogs to the Atlanta Falcons in 2016. Only the Jets game did not take place in the playoffs.

The Packers have had a very inconsistent 2018 season so far.

It started off with a remarkable 24-23 win over the Chicago Bears in which Rodgers injured his left knee in the first half, only to return in the second half to inspire the comeback. An underwhelming 29-29 draw with the Minnesota Vikings followed before a 31-17 defeat to the Washington Redskins. They would crush the Buffalo Bills 22-0 before suffering a 31-23 loss to the Detroit Lions.

They most recently defeated the San Francisco 49ers 33-30 in another comeback win and just finished their bye week.

Their visit to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum this Sunday only adds to what will be a tough November for Green Bay as they will face the likes of the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and the Vikings next month.

Currently second in the NFC North table, poor results could see them drop further down, which is why Rodgers expects the team to perform even better in their next few games.

“We are a couple plays away from being 4-2 or 5-1 and definitely a couple ways from being the other way,” Aaron Rodgers recently said. “We are thankful to be 3-2-1 right now and we realize what's in front of us now. This type of play might not get it done against the next opponents, so we have to play better.”

Rodgers is not completely recovered from his knee injury from Week 1 and is still wearing a protective brace. His mobility has clearly been affected since, but it has also considerably improved as the weeks go by and the 34-year-old is hoping to have the brace completely removed this week ahead of a tough run of fixtures.

“I’d love to take the brace off after the bye (week), but we’ll see how I respond (Tuesday) and this week and next week,” Rodgers explained last week. “And (we’ll) probably get some sort of image of it again. But that would be nice, to be feeling great come next week Wednesday.”

The Packers will also be hoping wide receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison return to action against the Rams.
