  • Barcelona to next take on Real Madrid Saturday

Raphinha made an excellent start to his life at FC Barcelona Tuesday as he scored a goal and made two assists in a pre-season game.

Barcelona thrashed Inter Miami 6-0 and Raphinha was involved in the first three goals of the game, according to the club’s official website.

Raphinha moved from Leeds United to Barcelona at $66 million, including add-ons, on a five-year contract.

The pre-season game against Inter Miami also saw Andreas Christensen make his Barcelona debut. The Catalans signed the defender from Chelsea on a free transfer this summer.

The 25-year-old Raphinha was on the field only for the first 45 minutes of the match at DRV PNK Stadium, Florida, but that was enough for the Brazilian striker to show what he is capable of.

Wearing the No. 22 shirt for Barcelona, Raphinha set up the opening goal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 19th minute. The Brazilian striker, a few minutes later, netted the ball with his right foot to double Barcelona’s lead.

Just before the half-time whistle, Raphinha created a goal for Ansu Fati by tapping the ball over the Inter Miami defense for the former to finish the rest.

The other goals were scored by Gavi, Memphis Depay and Ousmane Dembele as the Catalans bounced back in style after a disappointing 1-1 draw in their first pre-season game earlier this month.

Speaking about his performance in his first game for his new club Barcelona, Raphinha said, "I’m very happy to have scored my first goal. It was a good game. I tried to have a good game. I'm very happy and hope to continue it."

Barcelona are scheduled to next travel to Las Vegas to take on arch-rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.

"One always tries to score against anyone, but if it's in a Derby, even more. The most important thing is the win. But for me we're better than Real Madrid," the former Leeds winger added in the same interview.
