  • NBA legend Ray Allen said he always looked up to Michael Jordan's charisma and personality
  • Allen pointed out that LeBron James has the same qualities as Jordan in terms of dealing with media and fans
  • Both James and Jordan recently lauded each other for their incredible accomplishments

NBA Hall of Famer Ray Allen thinks Michael Jordan and LeBron James can both manage to stay classy in public regardless of the situation.

Given their superstar status, Jordan and James have their fair share of stress in and outside the basketball court. Fans may have seen a glimpse of how the pair handles such a tremendous amount of pressure in public.

Allen, who has shared the locker room with James and played against a prime Jordan, is one of the few privileged persons who have witnessed the interesting similarity between the two NBA icons in terms of personality.

According to two-time NBA champ, he has always “admired” how Jordan carries himself in front of reporters and even how the legend manages to still engage with every person he walks into after an intense basketball game.

“As a kid, I always think about what would MJ do in a situation,” Allen told Posecast, “Because I always admired how he handled the media. I admired how he dressed, I admired how he carried himself on the court. Like he was a staunch competitor, he was a trash talker. But he was also a gentleman when he was out there. When he walked off the court, he engaged with everybody he could and people loved him.”

Allen went on to discuss James' unbelievable humility. As per the former Miami Heat star, his former teammate had the same charisma as Jordan.

But more importantly, Allen is amazed by how “King James” never let anybody feel like he’s a big shot NBA superstar at all times.

“LeBron [James] has that same energy (as Jordan) when he moves through the world,” he pointed out. “People really enjoy seeing him, and his rapport with people has always been great. I’ve always appreciated how he doesn’t hold his status in front of people when he moves through if we’re walking through the mall like you’ll laugh and joke with people and have a good time.”

James and Jordan have already cemented their names on the list of NBA all-time greats. However, curious fans still yearn to hear the pair’s take in the so-called “GOAT debate.”

Both players have recently addressed the issue, but instead of bragging about their accomplishments, Jordan and James lauded each other.

“The debates can happen,” James stated. “Y’all can talk about it. I’ll talk about it with my guys when we at home, our friends and all that stuff. But I’m not going to give it to y’all. I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to fall for it. You guys know how much I love Michael Jordan. I wear the number 23 because of Michael Jordan.”

“If you ask 20 years from now, I’m pretty sure LeBron may beat me, you know, based on who’s gonna be making the voting,” Jordan recently told ESPN. “I say that to say that I understand that it is what it is. I don’t wear it, I don’t showcase it, I don’t rub it on other people’s faces. If you ask me, I can never give you an opinion about things like that because as an athlete, all you wanna do is be the best.”
