Real Madrid stormed to a 4-0 win over Lyon, their third consecutive win in the group stages, and is in line to be amongst the first team to qualify for the knockout rounds.

A blistering performance blew away their French opponents as Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the first half with a poacher's goal on 18 minutes.
Both sides had goals disallowed further on in the first half, Lyon for Gomis' offside and Madrid for Xabi Alonso's quick free kick.

The first half ended 1-0, but Real turned up with their scoring boots in the second half. Benzema set up Sami Khedira for his first Real Madrid goal early in the second half before an own goal from Hugo Lloris and a late strike from Sergio Ramos sealed matters at the Santiago Bernabeu.
