Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United's young winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho, who made his senior debut with Manchester United in last season, has a contract with the Old Trafford side until the summer of 2023. While the Red Devils are said to be having discussions with the Argentinian forward over a new long-term deal, there has not been any breakthrough yet, with Real Madrid closely monitoring the situation, reported Spanish outlet Relevo.

If Manchester United fail to tie him down in a new deal in the coming days, Garnacho will be able to agree to a pre-season contract with any club during the January transfer window. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to continue his policy of bringing in the best young talents and Garnacho is on his radar.

Over the last few years, Los Blancos have landed some of the most promising young talents such as Vinicius, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde.

Garnacho, who recently switched from Spain's national side to Argentina, started off his soccer career with Getafe's youth system before moving to Atletico Madrid, where he spent five years. The 18-year-old attacker received offers from Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United, with the player choosing to move to the Premier League in 2020.

The Madrid-born player has a record of 16 goals and eight assists in 31 appearances for Manchester United's under-18s, while he has netted five times and registered two assists in 16 outings for the club at the under-21 level.

Garnacho has netted two goals and provided two assists with Manchester United's senior side, making a goal contribution every 73 minutes. These records have made him a solid alternative for Erik ten Hag. The teenage sensation's maiden senior goal came in Red Devils' 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in Europa League. After this, Garnacho shocked Fulham by scoring in the 94th minute before the international break.

Manchester United suffered a 4-2 defeat against Cadiz on Wednesday in a club friendly. Garnacho played the opening 45 minutes of the game at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.

The player currently earns a weekly wage of around $6,132, which could rise to $61,000-a-week if he signed a new deal with Manchester United.

The Red Devils' next game is against Real Betis. The main team will resume the 2022-23 campaign on Dec. 22 when they host Burnley at Old Trafford in a League Cup fixture.
