Cloud-based subscription gaming service PlayStation Now has announced that memorable games “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” and “Final Fantasy XV” are part of its September lineup.

ScreenRant notes that since it was first launched in 2014, PS Now has been providing subscribers with titles from every PlayStation generation, allowing players to enjoy them on either PS4 or PC for the price of $9.99 a month.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass has undoubtedly provided some competition lately, but PlayStation Now remains impressive with its monthly additions. Just this past August, hits such as “Hitman 2,” “GreedFall,” and “Dead Cells” were added. These were aside from gaining “Persona 5” and “Control” prior to those.

Sony has also subsequently promised that PlayStation Now will continue to play an important role in the looming PlayStation 5 era and even beyond it. New services like Google Stadia have tried to take some of the thunder away from PS Now but have failed to match its success thus far.

PlayStation has revealed that aside from “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” and “Final Fantasy XV,” other titles coming to PlayStation Now in September are “WWE 2K19” and the sci-fi puzzle thriller from 2019 known as “Observation.”

According to PlayStation’s listings, “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” will only be available until November, while “Final Fantasy XV” will remain until next March. The expiration dates for the other two titles are still unknown at this time, provided they are not on the service permanently.

“Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” is a game first release in 2017 that served as a reinvention of Capcom’s popular survival horror franchise. It shifted the players’ perspective from third-person to the first-person view and removed the series’ creepy zombies for a murderous family in the American Deep South.

The game emphasized genuine fear over the over-the-top action that was seen in the previous two numbered installments of the “Resident Evil” franchise. That earned “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” praise among many players as a return to form even though its sales numbers fell short.

“Final Fantasy XV” told the story of Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum and his close-knit group of friends as they travel the world of Eos and battle to save their kingdom from the darkness in this 2016 fantasy title. Originally envisioned as a mere spinoff from “Final Fantasy XIII,” the title was reworked to become its own game.

As part of Square Enix’s iconic JRPG series, “Final Fantasy XV” differs from the rest of the main franchise with its open-world exploration and “Kingdom Hearts”-style real-time combat. That style of battling would in turn influence this year’s “Final Fantasy VII Remake.”

Although “Resident Evil 7: Biohazard” will only be available until November, that title and “Final Fantasy XV” will make worthy additions to the catalog of PlayStation Now. Just having those two, as well as “WWE 2K19” and “Observation” is a veritable coup for the service.
