Rihanna's family is excited about her upcoming bundle of joy.

The "Umbrella" singer, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, shocked fans when she was photographed with a baby bump while walking in New York City with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky over the weekend. Now, Rihanna's dad Ronald Fenty has shared his reaction to the pregnancy news with Page Six.

"I'm ecstatic," Fenty told the outlet from his home in Barbados Monday. "I'm so happy that I jumped for joy. I'm still so excited."

He added, "Rihanna always said that she wanted children, she loves kids. She always takes care of her cousins' kids…she's going to be a good mom."

According to Fenty, his daughter informed him about her pregnancy Sunday night and sent him photos. "I'm just over the moon. She's beautiful inside and out," Rihanna's dad said.

Rihanna and her father, a former alcoholic and crack addict, have had a troubled relationship over the years. The "Diamonds" singer previously sued her dad for allegedly misusing her name to benefit his own entertainment company.

However, in September 2021, just weeks before they were due to meet in court, Rihanna scrapped the lawsuit she had brought against her dad. It is believed that the father and daughter had settled the case.

Rihanna's family met Rocky when she brought him home to the Caribbean island in December 2020. Her dad found him to be a "very cool guy," adding, "I like him."

News broke in November that year that Rihanna and Rocky were dating after years of friendship. The couple had sparked romance rumors since she split from her boyfriend of three years, billionaire Hassan Jameel, in January 2020. That July, she featured Rocky in her Fenty Skin campaign, and the duo did several interviews together to promote the collab.

In a 2020 interview with Vogue U.K., Rihanna opened up about having children, sharing that she was "realizing life is really short" and found a new no-nonsense approach to living.

"You don't have a lot of time to tolerate s----, you know? You put so much on your plate. When you're overwhelmed, you need to start cutting things out. And I'm overwhelmed too much," she said at the time. "What's happening now is that I'm going back to black and white. My gray area is shutting down."

"I know I will want to live differently," she continued, sharing that within the next 10 years, she sees herself having "three or four" children, whether she has a partner or not.

Rihanna added, "I feel like society makes me want to feel like, 'Oh, you got it wrong …' They diminish you as a mother if there's not a dad in your kids' lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness; that's the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That's the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love."
