“Josie and the Pussycats” star Rachael Leigh Cook revealed earlier this year that she’d like to join CW’s Archie series “Riverdale.” Now, the show’s creator is sharing his thoughts on that idea.

After two members of the “Riverdale” Pussycats — Hayley Law (“Valerie”) and Ashleigh Murray (“Josie”) — mentioned wanting to have Cook guest star on the series, International Business Times had to get her take on it.

“I would totally do that,” Cook told IBT. “I hope they told their bosses…because I think that would be a great time.”

Well, they might not have, but IBT sure did. While at NYCC last month, we asked “Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa about having Cook join on the fun, letting him know she’s interested in the idea.

“Oh, wow,” he said. “No kidding? I didn’t know that. Well, that’s good to know.”

To make sure he had all the details to consider, IBT relayed Cook’s vision for her role. “I remember when I was watching the pilot with my husband [actor Daniel Gillies] and I said, ‘How come I’m not someone’s mom? I’m somebody’s mom in real life, I could be somebody’s mom,’” she had suggested.

Aguirre-Sacasa’s response to that idea? “Yay, oh my God. Yeah, for sure, that’d be great. Oh my God.”

With Cook already on board and now Aguirre-Sacasa, it’s hopefully only a matter of time before they make this “Riverdale” casting official.

“Riverdale” Season 3 airs on The CW on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST.
