‘Riverdale’
Betty and Veronica have each other’s backs in “Riverdale,” just like Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes in real life. The CW

“Riverdale” stars Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart have become the best of friends!

Just recently, Mendes shared an adorable photo of herself with Reinhart via her Instagram account. The actress used a term of endearment for Reinhart and called her “crispy mcnuggets.” Reinhart also did a similar thing a few days ago to commemorate Mendes’ birthday. On her Instagram account, she also posted their photo and said that she is grateful to have her as the “V to my B.” These letters refer to the first letter of their characters’ names in “Riverdale.” Mendes plays the role of Veronica, while Reinhart plays the role of Betty.

Meanwhile, Betty and Veronica are also best friends in the hit The CW series, but it seems that their bond will be shaken up in the upcoming episodes. Just recently, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased a darker Season 2 for “Riverdale.” In May, Aguirre-Sacasa shared the title for Season 2, episode 1 via his Twitter account. “Chapter Fourteen: A Kiss Before Dying,” which he wrote, will center on the mystery surrounding Fred’s (Luke Perry) shooting.

“Riverdale” Season 2, episode 2 is titled “Chapter Fifteen: Nighthawks.” And just last week, Aguirre-Sacasa also shared the titles for episodes 3 and 4, namely, “Chapter Sixteen: The Watcher in the Woods” and “Chapter Seventeen: The Town that Dreaded Sundown.” According to Screen Rant, these titles have horror or thriller influences and are inspired by films that were released decades ago.

In other news, fans of “Riverdale” should also watch out for the arrival of a potential big bad in the show. While speaking with Collider, cast member Madchen Amick, who plays the role of Alice Cooper, said that Season 2 will definitely be more exciting than Season 1. “From what I’ve heard about Season 2, it just sounds like it’s gonna be an even better season than the first one. There’s a new looming threat that’s gonna be showing up in ‘Riverdale’ for Season 2 that I think you’re gonna really enjoy,” she said.

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EST.
