Is A Romance Blooming Between Brienne Of Tarth And Tormund On ‘Game Of Thrones’?

Varys’ little birds are buzzing that a relationship could be brewing at Castle Black.

After the arrival of Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) at the headquarters of the Night’s Watch, sources say that the blonde swordswoman may have caught the eye of a certain Wildling.

“Tormund Giantsbane couldn’t take his eyes off of her over dinner,” an insider revealed. “He almost choked on his slab of mystery meat.”

While Tormund (Kristofer Hivju) appeared to be smitten with the former member of Renly Baratheon’s Kingsguard, Brienne might be skeptical to jump into a relationship with the leader of the Free Folk. Other sources say that the heir of House Tarth has never gotten over the cruel nickname of Brienne the Beauty that was given to her in her youth.

Although she doesn’t look like your average Westeros woman, that’s something that Tormund reportedly finds appealing about her.

“He loves a strong woman, someone who can wield a sword and slay beside him,” the source added. “He was overheard telling some of the other Wildlings that Brienne is ‘the whole package.’ Tormund’s hoping that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) can put in a good word for him.”

Of course, the potential blooming romance is mostly speculation right now. During Season 6, episode 4 of “Game of Thrones,” viewers couldn’t help but notice that Tormund was in the very least fascinated with Sansa’s knight. However, it didn’t look like Brienne was that interested in the Wildling. She eyed him warily as he ripped into his dinner. Only time will tell if there is something more to the two characters.
