Speculation that he wasn’t a part of the upcoming “Jersey Shore” reunion on E! ran rampant after he didn’t appear in a Burger King commercial with the rest of his former castmates. However, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has officially confirmed he will in fact be involved.

In a post on Instagram, Ronnie revealed that not only he, but fellow cast member Vinny Guadagnino, who was absent from the trailer, are both going to be involved, sharing an image of the two sitting on a beach as camera crews filmed their interactions with an unidentified blonde woman. Ronnie captioned the post using hashtags including #JSReunion and #RealFamily.

Rumors first surfaced that he may not be a part of the reunion, which serves as the premiere episode of the new E! series “Road Trip Reunion,” after he wasn’t a part of a commercial for Burger King’s chicken parmigiana sandwich. That commercial did feature Guadagnino, as well as Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Deena Cortese and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola.

Following the commercial, Deena told Us Weekly that she wasn’t sure if Ronnie would be a part of the upcoming reunion either, because she said most of the cast hadn’t kept in touch with him since the original MTV series came to an end in 2012.

“I honestly don’t know if anyone has spoken to him about it,” she said at the time. “Right now we’re in a group chat with me [and everyone else]. Ronnie’s actually not in it right now, in the group chat, but we’re all talking about it and we’re all trying to figure out ways to make it happen.”

She also explained, however, that if Ronnie wanted to be a part of the show, the cast, including his ex, Sammi, would have no problem welcoming him back.

“I’m sure he’d be willing to sign on. We just all haven’t spoken to him. I think Vinny’s the only one that really talks to him,” she said. “Sam is the happiest I’ve ever seen her, so I think she would be just fine if Ronnie is there. She’s doing great. I don’t think his presence would bother her at all.”

Ronnie spoke about his tumultuous former on-off relationship with Sammi during his run on the recently concluded season of “Famously Single.” During a therapy session on the show, when asked why he was no longer with her, Ronnie indicated that his infidelity that led to their breakup was because of something that she couldn’t provide for him.

“I don’t think that she ever fulfilled me inside,” he said. “I guess that’s why I cheated. Maybe she wasn’t exactly what I needed.”

While it’s unclear whether or not the former exes will interact on the reunion, or how it will go, fans can expect some intriguing moments when the cast returns to TV screens. In the trailer, The Situation sports a neck brace at one point, while Snooki shares that she hopes to see some of her co-stars hauled away in handcuffs.

“The best thing that could happen is Jenni or Pauly getting arrested,” she says.

“Road Trip Reunion: Return to the Jersey Shore” airs Sunday, Aug. 20, at 9:30 p.m. EDT on E!
