Hugh Jackman will be seen playing the popular character of Wolverine for the last time in “Wolverine 3.” In a tweet this week, Ryan Reynolds, who plays the title role in the coming “Deadpool,” said he will like to see his and Jackman’s character appear in a “Top Gun”-style movie.

“Top Gun” (1986) is about fighter pilots, and it will interesting to see Wolverine and Deadpool as fighter pilots in a full-fledged film. In the comics, the two have gone on many adventures together, but according to Cinema Blend it will be difficult to see them as fighter pilots as Wolverine is uncomfortable with flying.

The #volleyball refers to the scene in “Top Gun” where Tom Cruise’s and Anthony Edwards' characters go up against Lt. Tom "Iceman" Kazansk (Val Kilmer). Jackman is yet to reply to Reynolds’s tweet.

The Australian actor is reportedly happy to bid goodbye to his character with “Wolverine 3.” “It is my last time. It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it. I kind of have in my head what we’re going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out,” he said on Dr. Oz' show (via Comic Book).

Not much is known about “Wolverine 3.” James Mangold is directing from the screenplay by Michael Green. The official title is yet to be revealed and other cast members have yet to be confirmed. Patrick Stewart is rumored to reprise his role as Professor X/Charles Xavier. The film is scheduled to open March 2, 2017.

Meanwhile, Reynolds’ “Deadpool” will open Feb. 12, 2016. It also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Andre Tricoteux and Leslie Uggams.
