An Amber Alert issued for Samara Derwin, the abducted 15-year-old Pennsylvania teen, was canceled after she was safely located by the police late Sunday.

The Pennsylvania State Police had issued an Amber Alert for the teen after she was abducted at knifepoint near Nanticoke High School on Sunday afternoon. According to reports, police responded to the school after receiving reports of a hostage situation. Upon arrival, the officers found a man holding a woman at knifepoint and began confronting him.

The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Jordan Oliver, assaulted one of the officers, stole a police car and drove away with the girl. The amber alert was canceled after she was located safely. However, details regarding how and where she was located were not known.

Although police did not confirm the suspect and the girl knew each other, details shared by them on their Facebook pages indicate they weren't strangers and were possibly in a relationship.

In April 2018, Derwin took to Facebook to announce that she was in a relationship with Oliver. In May, Derwin shared a post that read “I wanna b pretty,” to which Jordan had replied with “You are pretty” and “Pretty beautiful” with heart emojis. It was, however, not clear if the two were still in a relationship.

Meanwhile, it was not clear if any arrests were made in the case. The officer who was assaulted was undergoing treatment at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
