KEY POINTS

  • Samsung's Galaxy Buds Live offers great sound and noise cancellation in a uniquely-shaped device
  • The original price, however, might make people think twice about buying
  • Best Buy is now selling refurbished units for less than half the original price

Samsung fans who are looking to get a new pair of wireless earbuds will be glad to know that the unique bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live is now available for less than $100, which is a steal compared to the prices of most wireless earbuds out there, particularly from Apple.

Best Buy is now selling Samsung Geek Squad certified refurbished Galaxy Buds Live units for only $79.99 as of writing time. This means buyers will get to save as much as $90 per pair compared to when buying a brand-new unit that costs $169.99 a piece.

While some might think that these refurbished models are inferior to brand-new units, they’re actually not. “Geek Squad Certified” programs, per Best Buy, “involve a rigorous multipoint inspection designed to ensure the highest performance and quality standards.”

This means each and every Geek Squad certified refurbished Samsung Galaxy Buds Live unit has been tested to work like new and restored to its original factory settings. It’s as if buying a new pair directly from Samsung’s online stores.

Furthermore, Best Buy promises that each and every part in the overall package is thoroughly cleaned. There’s no reason for consumers to worry about someone else’s dirt or sweat coming in contact with their ears or skin. This definitely makes it a better option compared to buying the same item from some anonymous seller on eBay.

Those who will grab this from Best Buy, however, shouldn’t expect to receive an owner’s manual or manufacturer registration card, which can be used to register the device on Samsung’s website for various purposes. These come with a 90-day warranty, however, which is a good thing.

Specs and Features

  • A unique design

Samsung proudly said that the Galaxy Buds Live “defy conventional design” using “one-of-a-kind aesthetics,” and it’s very obvious: a kidney bean shape designed to fit snugly in the user's ear. Users will need to select the right ear tip size to make sure it fits well.

  • Big sound

The Galaxy Buds Live feature 12mm speakers. Further, its sound has been tuned by AKG. The company assures users that it offers spacious, seamless sound and deep bass. Users shouldn’t expect total noise isolation with the overall design, however.

  • Long battery life

With ANC turned off, the Galaxy Buds Live lasts for up to eight hours on a single charge. Turning ANC on lowers that to a maximum of six hours. The charging case extends battery life for a total of 21 hours with ANC turned on.
