Virtual Reality is the future of technology. Although, there is no dearth of VR headsets from a slew of well-known and virtually unknown companies across the globe, Samsung stood out by introducing a 360 degree camera.

At the MWC 2016 event, apart from the flagship Galaxy S7 and its edge variant the South Korean tech giant also showed off Gear 360 camera. However, the company did not reveal the exact price or the price ambit during the announcement.

But now, thanks to e-tailer B&H Photo Video, the price of the Samsung Gear 360 has been revealed as $350. GSM Arena says the aforesaid price is quite reasonable for a VR device under Samsung brand with IP 53 rating in tow. Nevertheless, LG launched the 360 Cam for just $200.

The Gear 360 is not available for purchase right now. B&H Photo Video has marked the device as "Coming soon" in its website. Phone Arena, meanwhile, says the Gear 360 will be made available for purchase sometime in Q2 2016, most likely towards the end of June.

This device comes with dual 15-megapixel CMOS sensors and dual f/2.0 Fisheye lenses. It supports high-resolution 3,840 x 1,920 pixels video recording at 30 fps. To top it off, the Samsung Gear 360 camera is also capable of recording 30-megapixel still images. It can also record 360 degree spherical photos and videos.

The Gear 360 comes with both dual and single lens mode. It has built-in connectivity like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even, NFC. This gadget is Google Street View compatible. The highlight of the device is the 128 GB storage expansion capacity via microSD card.

This camera is reportedly compatible with Samsung's high-end handsets like Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge +, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
