  • Jadon Sancho says his reported links to Manchester United are merely speculations
  • Sancho was flattered to have been given a high valuation
  • Sancho remains focused on playing football with Borussia Dortmund for now

Jadon Sancho remains linked to a potential move to Manchester United, although the chances of that happening are not looking good. Despite Borussia Dortmund making it clear that the 20-year-old is not going anywhere, transfer speculations have not died down.

Sancho has finally spoken out about his links to the Red Devils in an interview with the Soccer Bible. As far as the English footballer is concerned, the media will always try to create some story, especially when it comes to transfer speculations. Rather than deal with it, he prefers to focus on what he has right now.

"No, the media’s the media. They’re always going to try and create a story, but this is how you manage it," Sancho said when asked about talks linking him to Premier League clubs. "For me, I just focus on my football. I just want to do what’s best for my team and win titles at the end of the day."

Sancho admitted that it is a bit flattering that he is being valued pretty high. However, he makes sure that his head is in the right place and maintains his focus on playing.

"I guess it’s a nice feeling to be worth so much, but again, I don’t really look at it that much," Sancho said of his reported £100 million ($132 million) transfer fee. "For me, it’s about doing well for my team and doing well for myself as well."

As mentioned in a previous post, Dortmund practically shut the door on any potential move after the deadline they set lapsed last Aug. 10. United had until that date to make an offer, but nothing came.

The Red Devils were believed to be looking at other options. Ousmane Dembele of FC Barcelona was mentioned as a target, and discussions were already made.

Dembele has two years remaining with Barca, a team that is undergoing a major facelift with newly appointed coach Ronald Koeman now in charge.

In the case of Sancho, he seems content staying the course and playing good football. He drew heavy attention last season, scoring 20 goals and 20 assists for BVB. Speculations and talks will continue even with Dortmund maintaining that the English winger is no longer on the table, Goal reported.
