  • Sarah Ferguson spoke out after son-in-law Jack Brooksbank was spotted partying with bikini-clad women last week
  • She insisted Eugenie's husband was simply "doing his job" as an ambassador for Casamigos
  • The Duchess of York called him a "superhero" as well as a "great father and a fabulous husband"

Sarah Ferguson is defending her son-in-law Jack Brooksbank after he recently made headlines for partying aboard a yacht in Capri, Italy, with several bikini-clad women.

The Duchess of York called her daughter Princess Eugenie's husband "a man of integrity" and explained that Brooksbank, 35, only went on the trip as part of his role as an ambassador for Casamigos, the tequila company founded by George Clooney and Rande Gerber.

"Jack, who was on the front page, is such a man of integrity," Ferguson was quoted as saying by People during an appearance on BBC One's "The One Show" Monday. "He's just one of my most favorite people. I call him James Bond, actually."

The "Finding Sarah" author continued, "He's just a superhero in my book, and he's a great father, a fabulous husband, and he's never at front of house, he always likes to be at the back."

Ferguson, who was promoting her new book "Her Heart for a Compass," went on to slam the Daily Mail for publishing the photos without proper context, saying, "For them to make this story is completely fabricated."

"He works as an ambassador for Casamigos, and he was on doing his job, and so, I think it’s really important that we clarify that for Jack’s sake," Ferguson explained.

The photos published by the outlet showed Brooksbank relaxing, swimming and sipping rosé Friday on a yacht off the coast of Capri. He was joined by models Erica Pelosini and Maria Buccellati, Casamigos global director Rachel Zalis and an unidentified topless woman. Princess Eugenie, who gave birth to their son August five months ago, was noticeably absent from the outing.

Brooksbank was in Italy to attend the UNICEF Summer Gala as an ambassador for the tequila brand, which sponsored the ball, reports said.

Meanwhile, Ferguson also recently praised her daughter and son-in-law, who became first-time parents in February, in a recent interview with People.

"I've known Jack for 10 to 12 years now. So he's like my son," Ferguson said. "He is my son and all, but he's like my son and I adore them both. And to see Eugenie and Jack being beautiful parents to little August, I'm really proud."

Princess Eugenie shared their first family photo on Instagram in February. In the black and white photo, Princess Eugenie is holding her baby's finger, while Brooksbank is gently holding his son's wrist.

Last summer, Ferguson and Prince Andrew gained another son-in-law after Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The couple is expecting their first child together this fall.

"I have the two most handsome sons-in-law in the world," Ferguson remarked.
