Sarah Ferguson has been called a disaster by a royal expert who also said that she shouldn’t give her daughters advice on royal life.

While speaking with Express, Richard Fitzwilliams said that it wasn’t right for the Duchess of York to tell Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to be who they are. The expert said that Ferguson should have realized by now that royals cannot simply be who they are because they have responsibilities.

“She always has been but, as a royal, she was a disaster,” Fitzwilliams said.

Ferguson was welcomed back into the royal fold this year after she attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19. Months later, she reunited with the members of the royal family during Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s nuptials.

A month after, she spoke with Piers Morgan on “Good Morning Britain” about the advice she has given to her and Prince Andrew’s daughters. Ferguson said that she has made several mistakes in the past, and her daughters are aware of them so they know exactly what they should and should not do.

“So the best thing, all I can say to anyone if I was talking to myself or talking to my girls, is be who you are,” she said.

But this is not all that the 59-year-old said. Ferguson added that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will one day write and say things, and everybody will react to them. Some people will support them, and others won’t. The most important thing is to always get on and do what they feel and to stand firm with integrity and kindness.

Ferguson was shut out of the royal family back in 1992 after she was caught in a toe-sucking scandal with her then-lover John Bryan while they were vacationing in St. Tropez. She was at Balmoral when the shocking images were published in the newspapers, and the Windsors came across it while having breakfast.

Following the incident, Ferguson’s relationship with her in-laws, particularly with Prince Philip, broke down. Ferguson and Prince Philip have not spoken to each other since the incident, but they attended two royal weddings together this year.
