New York Knicks phenom Jeremy Lin has another new famous fan -- former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

While visiting New York City, Palin proudly showed off the blue ‘Linsanity’ Knicks T-shirt she purchased to reporters.

While Palin and President Barack Obama may not agree on much else, they are both fans of the Knicks point guard, whose fame seems to be swelling daily.

“I've got some Linsanity!' Palin shouted out to reporters as she departed a Manhattan hotel on Thursday.

“What an American story! It's uplifting, it's positive, it unifies our country. Talk about the underdog who's worked so hard and overcome a lot! We're big fans of Lin.”

Lin is often compared to Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, who like Lin, is also a devout Christian. When Palin was asked by TMZ which athlete she liked better she hedged her bets and responded: “I love 'em both, and they're so talented and so good in their own sports.”

Lin and The Knicks play Friday night against the New Orleans hornets.

Palin apparently has a thing for basketball players. According to an unauthorized biography by Joe McGinnis, she once had a brief affair with Glen Rice prior to his NBA career.
