Amber Michelle Parker, a 37-year-old eighth-grade teacher from Mexia, Texas, was arrested Wednesday for attempting to traffic a minor relative to multiple men. She sent the minor’s pictures online to men in Morocco.

The arrest was made after a joint investigation by the offices of Freestone County Sheriff and McLennan County Sheriff, Waco Tribune-Herald reported. Freestone County Sheriff J. Shipley said the officials came to know about the incident when some of the family members, who doubted Parker’s intentions, contacted police and sought an investigation. They then contacted McLennan County officials who have special expertise in investigating such cases.

Shipley said, "After a joint investigation between Freestone County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Investigator Preston Cordova and McLennan County Sheriff's Office Detective Joseph Scaramucci, a female suspect was placed under arrest for the offense of Trafficking of Persons after conspiring to traffic a minor child to multiple male subjects online in Morocco."

McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said Parker posted pictures of the minor on her social media accounts to look for men interested in the girl. The minor was seen wearing lingerie with her breast exposed. She was planning to take the child to Morocco. Though the minor did not travel to Morocco, Parker herself visited Morocco in mid-December and came back Jan. 1, McNamara added.

The family members said, for the past several months, Parker was trying to lure the kid to take her to Morocco with her to meet multiple men, McNamara said.

"Family members got wind that Parker was going to try to lure this girl to Morocco," McNamara said. "It is a dastardly story, and it is trafficking at its worst."

The school, where Parker worked, put her on administrative leave Wednesday afternoon, Mexia Independent School District Superintendent Lyle DuBus said.

After the arrest, Parker was sent to Freestone County Jail.

In a similar incident in December 2018, an Indiana woman was arrested for having sex with a minor. Kendra Wilson, 33, was charged with a child seduction case, according to Evansville Police.

Wilson, who is also a mother of two kids, threatened the teenager if their relationship became public then her husband would kill both of them. She indulged in sexual activities with the teenager several times including oral sex.

The teenager, however initially denied the accusations, but later informed a forensic investigator that Wilson initiated a sexual relationship with him.
