Selena Gomez On Meaningful Endeavors Within The 2-Year Singlehood After Justin Bieber Split

What happened to Selena Gomez after she and ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, parted ways?

Gomez may be currently single but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t do anything meaningful with her time. In fact, the “Look At Her Now” singer shared on her official Twitter account her advocacy for quality education.

“Education changes lives,” Gomez tweeted. She said she went to Kenya with @wemovement and personally witnessed the significance of quality education.

As part of her advocacy, Gomez declared her support Global Citizen in calling on Kenya to keep its promise to every Kenyan child.

Gomez, on March 5, tweeted a video which concisely described her experience after going to Kenya. A devastating truth was revealed to her —many students in Kenya don’t receive quality education, and 59% of which were girls who weren’t able to go to school. Consequently, more critical opportunities were missed out.

Global Citizen, a movement of engaged citizens who are using their collective to end extreme poverty by 2030, hosted a festival last year in South Africa where Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta made a commitment to increase the allocation on education from 17% to 30% from the national budget; however, it has been observed that progress was very slow.

The “Rare” singer revealed that she met young people and teachers who support the campaign for the right to a free, quality and inclusive education; and since there was no movement of some sort, Gomez, via Twitter, called out for support.

Aside from this humanitarian advocacy, Gomez also spent her time working on her “Rare” album, which was recently released.

Gomez and Bieber’s relationship was a roller coaster ride. Their situation was rather confusing with the reported on-and-off relationship, until 2018. It was when the news spread that Bieber and his —at that time girlfriend; now wife— Hailey Baldwin got engaged.

While the “Yummy” singer reportedly jumped into another relationship with the supermodel and moved on quick, the “Lose You To Love Me” singer remained single.

Was staying single a right choice?

It’s for her to tell but it was a decision she made. After breaking up with the “Yummy” singer she remained single for the past 2 years. It was only last year when she confirmed her decision that she needed time for herself, Metro UK reported.

It doesn’t mean she’s no longer interested in being in a relationship. She had this thought of being alone forever whenever she wakes up, feeling annoyed but retorted by saying it goes away after a few minutes, Fox News reported.
