Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift share a special bond with each other. Gomez has praised her pal Swift for always being there when she was feeling low, for always being the one to take her out of problematic situations, and for always standing by her. Apart from being a great friend, Gomez also thinks that the “Lover” hitmaker is probably one of the most amazing musicians of the current generation of artists or even of all time.

In an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, the 27-year-old singer-actress opened up about Swift’s writing prowess and claimed that she is probably one of the “greatest songwriters.” The “Lose You To Love Me” singer also noted that Swift would always have a place on her playlist.

The songstress was sharing her “At Her Home” playlist with Lowe when she said that Swift’s gigantic hit “Lover” was the perfect example of how to do new things with music.

“There is nothing really to say other than this is another song that shows her ability to take it back to the old, to also combine it with her challenging to do new things with her new music. I think that is as pure as that – I will always, not even biased, just think she is one of the greatest songwriters,” Gomez said.

In January, both musicians spoke candidly about their friendship in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. At that time, the “Good For You” songstress explained how the “Bad Blood” creator stayed with her when she was experiencing so many issues like her depleting mental health and physical health, her battle with lupus, and her nasty breakup with Justin Bieber. Gomez also noted that she could always count on Swift to support her in any given situation.

On the other hand, the 10-time Grammy award-winning musician confessed how protective she feels toward Gomez.

Gomez and Swift became friends when they were dating members of the Jonas Brothers. Gomez was in a relationship with Nick Jonas while Swift was dating Joe at the time.

The dynamic duo has been seen making numerous appearances together on various award shows like Billboard Music Awards and the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. Gomez also performed her single “Who Says” with Swift at the Madison Square Garden during the latter’s “Speak Now” tour.
