Seth Rollins aligned himself with Triple H and The Authority over a year ago, but it appears that the relationship between the two sides has an expiration date. On “Monday Night Raw,” WWE seemingly planted the seeds for a Rollins-Triple H feud.

The night after SummerSlam, Triple H granted Sting a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match with Rollins at Night of Champions. Sting opened Monday’s show by proclaiming that he would beat Rollins in a few weeks, comparing the champ to Triple H in the process.

“At WrestleMania, Triple H was man enough to stand up and shake my hand after he beat me,” Sting said in an impassioned promo. “And at Night of Champions, I am gonna prove that on his best day Seth Rollins is not half the man that Triple H is.”

Rollins and Stephanie McMahon would get into an argument later on in the show because Stephanie said that the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion and United States Champion is not as good as her husband. “Raw” ended with Stephanie granting John Cena a rematch with Rollins for his U.S. Title at Night of Champions.

There have been rumors for months that Rollins and Triple H could be headed for a match against one another, and there was even talk that it would happen at SummerSlam. While that never came to pass, it’s looking like the two might go head-to-head in the ring sometime before, or possibly at, WrestleMania 32.

Rollins joined forces with The Authority last June when he turned on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, breaking up The Shield. The Authority helped Rollins win the Money in the Bank briefcase, which he cashed in to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31.

Feuding with Triple H could be what forces Rollins to have a babyface turn. He’s been WWE’s top heel since the breakup of The Shield.

Triple H hasn’t wrestled since he beat Sting at WrestleMania 31. Prior to that, Randy Orton, Batista and he faced The Shield at WWE Payback, one night before Rollins turned heel.
